Maurizio Sarri wants more depth in Chelsea’s backfield. Sarri is willing to stretch his squad ahead of the second half of the Premier League season and Napoli’s Hysaj Elseid is on their cards.
The Albanian international should have completed a move to Chelsea last season, but the move never materialised.
Napoli blocked his exit after Chelsea signed Jorginho using back door means. Club president Aurelio de Laurentis barred the Blues from signing the Napoli player last season after they snatch Jorginho away from the club.
Elseid has been doing the rounds lately. The defender has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, and his agent confirmed the Albanian is keen on reuniting with his “mentor” Sarri.
Elseid’s move to Stamford Bridge has not been ruled out by the club, and by his agent.
Reports peddling in Italy is claiming that the 24-year-old is on the alert, and hugely keen on receiving a proposal from Chelsea.
Elseid is raring to leave Napoli in January, and has hints in the media strongly suggesting he is willing to leave.
The 24-year-old wants to play under Sarri in the Stamford Bridge next term and it is unlikely Napoli will scupper the Blues efforts.
