Eden Hazard who was active in Tuesday’s clash against Barcelona has revealed to newsmen that he is confident the Blues can defeat the Catalans in the Champions League last-16 return leg tie at Camp Nou if they are more ruthless than they were at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The Belgian also promised that they will concentrate till the end of the game to ensure that they qualify at the expense of the La Liga giants next month.
The Blues defenders were agile and active enough to prevent Barca’s attack led by Lionel Messi from causing any havoc to Thibaut Courtois who didn’t make much saves in the first half of the game.
After the restart of the game in the second half, Chelsea found a breakthrough in the 62nd minute via Willian’s fierce shot outside the Catalans’ 18-yard box to take the lead, but that didn’t last too long as Iniesta leveraged on Chelsea centre-back Christensen’s error to get the ball to Messi who made no error in putting the ball beyond Thibaut Courtois’ reach.
Having ended the game in a 1-1 draw, there is more to play for in the reverse fixture as both teams can still make it to the next round of the competition and Hazard believes Chelsea can shock the world by progressing to the next round at the expense of the Catalans.
“We will go there trying to win because we have to score and we will try for the perfect game as we did today except for the small error that we made. That’s what made the difference because you’re up against Barcelona.
Hazard also praised Willian for the goal he scored after being denied on two occasions by the woodwork. According to the Belgian playmaker, Willian is a top player and a good goalscorer.
