Swiss international and Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka heaped praise on his midfield partner for allowing him play effortlessly.
After winning eleven consecutive matches, the Gunners are now looking like a real contender in all competitions. The Gunners who looked shaky in their first two matches against Manchester City and Chelsea have now found their mojo.
New manager Unai Emery seems to have struck the perfect midfield partnership between Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka. The Uruguayan midfielder and the Swiss middleman have played their roles in the Gunners’ victories this season.
Torreira’s fondness of breaking opponents’ attack, recovering the ball, and making the hard tackles have ensured that Xhaka has been able to focus more on what he does best. Xhaka has been incredible with the ball at his feet.
This understanding of individual strengths and weaknesses has propelled Arsenal to their best winning run in ten years.
Xhaka described Torreira as someone who is able to “play from side to side and… helps with our balance.”
The Arsenal man further praised his teammate saying: “He lets me play my game with the ball and go a bit more in front.”
The Gunners are still in all competitions as they have won eleven matches consecutively.
