Spanish side Valencia have expressed their interest in signing Manchester United protégé Andreas Pereira as they look to have the midfielder on a season-long loan.
Reports as of yesterday were suggesting that Jose Mourinho has sanctioned the transfer which would see Pereira ply his trade for yet another season in Spain. However, latest report from ESPN claims that the 21-year-old is set to rebuff Valencia’s advances towards him notwithstanding Mourinho’s stance on his future.
With just one year left on his current contract at United, Mourinho has a tough decision to make as regards Pereira’s future. Having spent the last campaign with Malaga, the midfielder played his way into the heart of their fans and earned positive remarks from the Spanish press as one of the promising youngsters in the La Liga.
Pereira has returned into the Red Devils squad and it was believed that he would finally become a regular first team player following on the exposure he got while at Malaga where he made 35 League appearances.
The same report goes on to say that Mourinho is still weighing his options but will like to have the Spanish player in his squad. However, he may find it difficult to break into a team that boasts of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini, which means he would have settle for the normal five minutes cameo that could hamper his progress as a player.
The United fans apparently will not hear of Pereira leaving on loan whilst Jesse Lingard continues to remain in the squad with a wage package if 100k-a-week.
