Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has dropped a massive hint that he will not be leaving the club at the end of the season, after he decided against selling his six-bedroom mansion, this is according to report.
Fellaini’s future has been up in the air since the January transfer window when he refused to extend his contract with United. He had offers from the Turkish League, AC Milan and Juventus last summer, and those reports linking him away from United have refused to go down.
The Belgian will see out his current contract with Man United at the end of the season and despite Mourinho’s plea to him, they are yet to get a breakthrough in the contract talks. Nonetheless, Mourinho revealed to newsmen that he is certain the versatile will eventually put pen to paper on a new deal.
He said last week: ‘I’m still positive. He’s important, he’s a player that I like but again, especially for him, he has a different position in relation to other players with his contract because we can control other players’ destiny in another way.
‘In Marouane’s case, the destiny is in his hands. He knows I want him to stay and the club wants him to stay. He has an offer from us and it’s up to him yes or no.
Fellaini had put up his £2.3million mansion for sale last year, and it was thought that he was preparing for life after Man United – the same house has been withdrawn from sale and the Mirror has reported that it is an indication that the 30-year-old star may not moving an inch away from the fortress of Old Trafford.
United are already preparing for life after Michael Carrick and they cannot afford to lose another midfielder.
