Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has received plaudits for his recent strides in the transfer market that has seen him not only recouped funds for the Blues, but he has bolstered the squad with top-notch footballers. Nonetheless, the Italian tactician is still looking to add to his otherwise strong team.
The Premier League Champions are heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan’s winger ANTONIO CANDREVA, and the agent of the Italian player has welcomed the Blues’ interest, stating that he could switch the San Siro for Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
Chelsea missed out on their transfer target Danilo as the player preferred a move to Manchester City and Conte is looking to give Victor Moses competition on the right wing. Candreva plays as a winger but he would fit into the wing back position of Chelsea.
Antonio Conte is an admirer of the player and he has a long standing interest in the 30-year-old winger. Chelsea attempted to sign Candreva in the January transfer window and report claims they have reignited interest in him.
Candreva, played down a possible move to Chelsea, stating that he’s not gotten any offers yet. However, his agent Federico Pastorello reckons that he could move to Chelsea even though his client is currently happy with life at the San Siro.
“Antonio is very calm at the moment and is only thinking about Inter,” Pastorello told Italian outlet FCInter1908.
“He’s happy with the arrival of [Luciano] Spalletti as the new coach.
“I would say it’s 80 per cent that he stays at Inter but Chelsea? You cannot exclude anything at the moment”.
Candreva could be used as a utility player. He can play on any of the wings or midfield positions and is described as a tenacious player.
