Good news: Man United transfer target tells club he wants move

Andre Gomes has reportedly informed Barcelona of his decision to leave the club this summer, with reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Portuguese international joined the Spanish giants from La Liga rivals Valencia last summer but has failed to reach the heights expected of him at the  Catalans.

And Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has also ruled the midfielder out of his plans for the club this season, according to Spanish publication Don Balon.

Jose Mourinho is on the lookout to add more players to his options at Old Trafford before the transfer window shuts next week.

And although there are reports linking Gomes with a move to the Premier League, it is understood that United are yet to make any offer for him.

As per Corriere dello Sport, the 24-year-old wants to leave the Nou Camp following reports that Barcelona are looking to bring Nice Ivorian midfielder Jean-Michel Seri to the club.

In another news, Man United are said to be interested in Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay.

Super Deporte claims that the Europa League winners are scouting the Argentine centre-back who has also attracted interests from Juventus, Benfica and Tottenham.

The 30-year-old has been on the radar of United in times past but nothing concrete has come out of it.

However, the reports claim United had their representatives on ground to watch the defender when Valencia played Las Palmas over the weekend.

United have already signed Victor Lindelof, but the Swedish defender is yet to come to terms with the demands of the Premier League.

It is left to be seen if a deal would materialize for Garay, who worked with Mourinho at Real Madrid, this summer. He has been valued at around £24 million.
