In this closing stages of the transfer window, you’d expect clubs and players to do whatever ever it takes to complete transfers on or before the deadline day of the window.
According to latest reports making the rounds, Man United have had their scout watch Argentina international and Valencia centre-back Ezequiel Garay ahead of a potential deal.
Garay may have fallen down the selection pecking order of Marcelino García Toral after the signing of Gabriel Paulista from Arsenal on a permanent deal and Jeison Murillo on a loan deal, and he has been heavily linked with a move to away from the Mestalla Stadium.
He was linked with a move to the Premier League previously but no club matched their interest with offers for him. However, Juventus are said to be interested but United have had a long standing interest and a report by Manchester Evening News claim United transfer scout Javier Ribalta was spotted in Spain last weekend as he watched Garay play for Valencia.
Ribalta is Man United top scout and his final approval for players makes United go for them. However, Garay is 30 and United have signed on Victor Lindelof, it is somewhat surprising that the Red Devils would be looking to sign a player of his age.
However, Man United will feature in all the available competitions for a top Premier League club and Mourinho needs a robust squad to cope with that demand.
The 30-year-old star is also on the radar of Tottenham but United are truly interested, they’ll be favourite to sign him as Mourinho has worked with the star while at Real Madrid.
He is valued at £22.8m b Valencia.
