Good news for Chelsea over deal for sturdy CB

Daniele Rugani is just few inches away from Chelsea’s grasp this season as the Blues prepare to make another bid for the Italian defender at the turn of the year.

The Juventus ace stirred a wave of joy in Blues fan when he released shots of himself learning English recently.

Chelsea remain keen on signing the defender after a move to prise him away from Turin suffered a breakdown.

The return of Bonuccci has left the 23-year-old tucked in a corner at Turin under manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The 24-year-old is still contracted at the Turin outfit until 2021. However, since dropping a picture of himself learning English, that has been peddled on the media, it hinted signs the 24-year-old may be growing tired of life in the Serie A, and is fancying a move to England to join Chelsea, who have been bid as favourites to land the star.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is confident he can land the central defender in January after the Blues were knocked back this summer by surprise when Juventus did not budge.

David Luiz has played a tremendous role in the Chelsea’s backline. Unavoidably, the Blues will need his replacement since he’s on the wrong side of 30, and Rugani is the crème of the crop.

His price tag is around 30 million pounds and interests about the player has swelled. London rivals Arsenal are keen on signing the star and AS Roma are reportedly in the corner to steal him away.
