Good news for Chelsea over deal for 117-goals in 195-games striker

Inter have given Chelsea the green light to sign prized asset Mauro Icardi and the Blues are ready to gallop faster to the finish line for his services before other clubs.

Icardi is a prolific scorer and the number of goals under his belt is enough proof and convincing why Sarri has refused to halt in his horse race chase to sign the Inter Milan striker.

The 25-year-old is one of the outstanding performers in the Italian Serie A, notching up 117 goals in 195 games. His career goals has tallied up to 128. And there’s no doubt he will bang more.

Icardi is a long term interest from Chelsea as they tried to prise him away from the San Siro in the summer, but their offers were put down by the Nerazzurri.

The Blues have been given a boost however as there’s a silver lining in every dark cloud after all.

Inter will risk selling their most prized asset to get off the frightening snarls and punishment of UEFA.

The club must balance their books ahead of next year to avoid falling foul of UEFA regulations according to the Sun.

And cashing in on Icardi could drive all that away, if they put him up for sale.

It is understood Icardi is enjoying life at the San Siro and given how direly they need saving, Icardi could be the sacrificial lamb.

It would make sense for Chelsea, since Álvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud continue to struggle in front of goal and knocking Manchester City of the top isn’t too farfetched.
