Arsenal are set to sail on still waters soon with Welshman Aaron Ramsey after being eroded with concerns of his imminent exit from the Emirates.
Ramsey, who is Arsenal’s longest serving player post-Wenger era after the exit of Jack Wilshere this summer, angled towards leaving the former FA Cup champions this summer.
The Gunners struggled to tie down Wilshere and are now faced with the hard task of keeping Ramsey.
But, according to new reports bandying about, the Gunners have a chance to crawl out of the mucky situation with the 27-year-old.
Although, no agreement has been reached, football writer, Charles Watt told sports outlet football.london that a new deal is in the wraps for Ramsey.
Watt revealed that sources close to him say that the chances of Ramsey dumping the Gunners for another club are slim. Negotiations between Ramsey and Arsenal’s hierarchy, still being dragged, is going smoothly, says Watt.
“In terms of Ramsey, there is still no agreement,” he said . “But I did hear from someone I trust last week that things were moving in the right direction and that he thought a new deal was not far away – which is a positive. I think he will eventually sign.”
Ramsey is an important element of the Arsenal squad and to see him leave at the end of this season, could turn the Gunners midfield into crumbs.
