Barcelona have reportedly offered Rafinha to Arsenal, with the Spanish giants ready to let go of the midfielder this summer.
The 24-year-old is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp, with Sergio Roberto, Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Barcelona president Joseph Maria Bartomeu had last week claimed the player is not for sale, but according to Sky Sports, Rafinha has been offered to the Premier League club.
Sources close to the player revealed that the Catalans are willing to accept offer in excess of £27 million for the player.
The Brazil international is currently recovering from a knee injury and is not part of Barca’s pre-season squad on their tour of US.
But that is not expected to deter Arsenal- who have previously expressed interest in him- from signing him.
The Gunners obviously need to strenghten their midfield this summer. Last summer signing Granit Xhaka has not really lived up to expectations while Francis Coquelin and Aaron Ramsey have been inconsistent.
Speaking on his future, Rafinha whose elder brother plays for Bayern Munich said:
“My future is open and only God knows what will happen.”
“I am a Barcelona player and the most important thing now is to recover from my knee injury and then you will see what happens. All I can say is that everything is open.”
Rafinha made 28 appearances for Barcelona but only started 14 league matches. He scored seven goals and assisted two across all competitions last season.
He is a versatile player who can play both as a right-back and in the central midfield.
