The transfer window will be shut in just over a week’s time, we expect to see a more pragmatic Antonio Conte in the market as he aims to bolster their squad of the Blues.
According to reports making the rounds, Chelsea have concluded discussion with Italian international and Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva over a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte’s team is somewhat thread bare on the flanks and he has been looking for players that will provide option and competition for Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso on the wings. Since failing to land Pereira, Conte has shifted his attention on Oxlade-Chamberlain and Antonio Candreva but it is the latter who appears as a realistic target.
Antonio Conte worked with Candreva while he was coach of the Nerazurri’s and he was heavily linked with a move for the winger in January. it said that Conte is a big admirer of the player and he wants them to re-unite at Stamford Bridge.
Although, Inter Milan had refused to listen to offers for the winger, the Mirror now claims the San Siro outfit have given Candreva the green light to leave but for £25m.
A deal for the player is now in the offing before the close of the window. However, Inter Milan manager Luciano Spaletti has revealed that the deal may depend of Chelsea.
“My position is to keep him and the club agrees with me, for now he has not shown any other signals,” Spalletti told reporters. We go forward calmly, then I don’t know what could happen tomorrow. As far as I can tell, Chelsea could try to do something.”
