Spanish and Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has waved off interests from Spain especially from former club Athletic Bilbao and is willing to stay put at United, says reports.
The £29 million signing from Bilbao has attracted Spanish outfits Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao after giving clues of a possible return to Spain to conclude his career chapter.
However, according to weallfollowunited, the 28-year-old is willing to stay a little bit longer at Old Trafford and create a huge dent of great sportsmanship at the Manchester club.
Herrera rejected a bid from former club Athletic Bilbao to resign him, claims the Daily Mail.
With one year left on his contract, the Spaniard has been given a chance to speak to other clubs from January, and until then he wishes to continue playing for the Red Devils.
He tallied 39 games last season for United with a good number of goals. However, his absence could send a United team just building the blocks of another greatness under boss Mourinho, crashing down devastatingly.
Herrera has been sighted as one of United most prized midfielders. Although, the arrival of new summer signing Fred could hamper his chances of first team action, with Michael Carrick retiring from football and Marouane Fellaini’s future undetermined, there might still be a flash of hope for the 28-year-old.
