Arsenal boss Unai Emery has sanction a deal for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, this is according to reports.
Following the long term injuries to Rob Holding and Mavropanos, the Gunners currently have an injury crisis that must be solved urgently.
Although Arsenal signed Sokratis in the summer, they look threadbare at the back and have conceded so many League goals.
Cahill is out of contract at the end of the season and he is free to speak with any club of his choice in January.
He has struggled to get game time under Maurizio Sarri and the Italian manager will not stand in his way if he desires to leave in January. He has been linked with a move to Arsenal, AC Milan and Manchester United recently.
With the sack of Jose Mourinho, who was the former boss of Cahill, the Red Devils are unlikely going to sanction a move for Cahill.
Meanwhile, Italian outlet Newsmondo, claim Emery is desperate to add a centre-back to his thin back-line and he has asked the top brass of the club to sign Cahill.
Cahill may have surpassed the twillight of his career but by every standard, he would be a good buy for the Gunners, whose ambition is to qualify for a top four place on the table.
