Feyenoord highly-rated striker Joshua Zirkzee has attracted the interests of Manchester United and Arsenal.
The teenage sensation is in high demand following his impressive performances for Feyenoord, which saw him netted 33 times in 27 appearances for the club’s academy last season.
According to the Daily Mail, the two Premier League clubs are ready to go head-to-head for the signature of the 16-year-old who has been adjudged one of the promising prospects in Holland.
Feyenoord may be reluctant to release their future star as their aim is to move him higher to the club’s U19 next season.
But Arsenal are reportedly confident of landing the forward who also appear to be interested in moving to England, after a failed attempt by Dutch rival Ajax to sign him.
Arsene Wenger has already brought in Alexandre Lacazette to bolster his side attack but may still be short of options upfront with Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Lucas Perez facing the exit door at the Emirates.
And with Wenger’s pedigree for allowing young players to shine at the club, he may get some playing time with Arsenal’s first-team, but the club’s academy appears more realistic destination for him if he joins them.
Zirkzee has four caps for Holland U16 team and found the back of the net once.
Manchester United are also looking to strengthen their academy and have made some signings already this summer, and want to add the youngster to them.
