Forget Sandro: Chelsea enter race to sign South-American left winger wanted by Liverpool

While most of the fans of Chelsea have called on the club to rival Arsenal to the signing of Pierre-Emeric Aubameyang, Antonio Conte has made signing a left back for the Blues his main priority, like in the summer.

Chelsea have been on the search for a left wing back and last summer, Alex Sandro was thought to be on his way to Stamford Bridge from Turin but a transfer fee that scuppered the proposed move. The Blues are yet linked with a move for Alex Sandro but it appears that his price tag will continue to put them off.

According to Birminghammail, Chelsea have turned their attention away from Turin and are weighing up a deal for Liverpool and Juventus left wing back target Alex Telles. Albeit £20m-rated Emerson Palmieri of Roma is another target, Telles is said to be the more logical signing.

Telles broke into the scene of European football in the January of 2014 when he completed a move to Galatasaray, he then joined Inter Milan on a season long loan deal after an 18months spell with the Turkish outfit. Inter opted against making his deal permanent and the 25-year-old move to Porto in a £5.9m deal.

Telles is currently uncapped by Brazil but he has Champions League experience and he is adept at playing in a set up with wing backs. Chelsea currently have Marcos Alonso as the player for the left wing back position, while Baba Rahman and Kenedy are preparing to leave on loan deals.

Telles is valued at 9,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
