Paris Saint-Germain Macro Verratti has boosted Manchester United’s interest in him after appointing top agent Mino Raiola to represent him.
Veratti has been linked with a move away from the French giants, with Manchester United and Barcelona said to be interested in signing him.
The Spanish giants have assumed the pole position to secure his services but the latest development could turn the tide in favour of Man United.
Veratti had dismissed his former agent Donato Di Campli after the latter made comments that the midfielder was a “prisoner of the Emir at PSG” and has now pitched his tent with Raiola.
Raiola has a strong relationship with Man United, he oversaw Paul Pogba’s world record move to Old Trafford last summer and Romelu Lukaku’s this summer, as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan transfers to the club.
And that will give Jose Mourinho the hope of signing the Italy international. The Portuguese boss is keen on signing a midfielder and has been linked with Tottenham’s Eric Dier and Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic.
But it appears signing any of the two is unlikely as Tottenham are not ready to let go of Dier while Chelsea prefer selling Matic abroad.
Veratti is a stand-out performer for PSG last season and boss Ernesto Valverde has claimed the 24-year-old is not for sale but Raiola known for getting his clients their desired deals could make the move happen.
PSG has valued the player 100 million euro but it is left to be seen if United will meet their asking price.
He’s valued at 45,00 Mill. €.
