The Gunners are in pole position to sign skillful Man City winger Jadon Sancho, according to reports.
The youngster attracted attention to himself while playing for Watford and he was snapped up by the Citizens in 2015. The 17-year-old has only improved in his skills since moving to the Etihad.
Despite being offered a three year deal worth £30,000-a-week, the Sun claims the player has stalled over the new deal, and Arsenal are looking like his most probable destination.
He is currently one of the most sought after teenagers in football with Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig all on his chase. Nonetheless, he would fancy his progression and development with an English Club and Arsenal seem to Club that will give him the chance to shine.
Sancho has not been handed his debut for Man City’s senior side but given his impressive cameos for the Club, it is believed that the youngster should be in line for a some playing time at the senior level.
Speaking to the Sun about the player’s move, a source in Etihad said:
“The club is worried Arsenal are frontrunners for Jadon as he has a soft spot for them.
“His family think he might get a quicker path to first-team action at either Arsenal or Spurs.
“One of his heroes is ironically Alexis Sanchez. It’s proving difficult to get him to sign his first professional contract here.
“He is a top player, one of, if not the best in the youth system. It’s not about the money for him at all.”
