Arsene Wenger has a knack for doing business late on in the transfer window, which is why despite spending only on Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal are yet heavily linked with a move for some top-notch players.
Former PFA player of the year Riyad Mahrez has been on the transfer radar of Arsenal since his barnstorming display for the Foxes in the Penultimate season, it now seem the player is nearing a dream move to Arsenal, according to the Express.
Mahrez is irked by the fact Leicester City are unwilling to listen to offers for him and he has reiterated that he wants out of the King Power Stadium. He has been a subject of interest from Arsenal and Seria A side Roma but GFN understands that no offer has been made for him by Arsenal.
However, BEIN sport TV present Richard Key claims the 26-year-old attacking midfielder will lace his boots for Arsenal next season.
Key was quizzed via a twitter session: “Richard, where do you think Mahrez will be next year? Leicester? Roma? Spurs? Or Arsenal? Thanks.”
Keys responded: “I still believe Arsenal.”
The future of Alexis Sanchez for Arsenal is currently uncertain but the presence of Mahrez will make the Gunners attack probably the most potent in the League if Mahrez is signed on and Alexis stays.
Despite Leicester’s shambolic outing in the League last season, Mahrez did not allow his personal standards to deep as he feature in 48 games across all competitions.
He is valued at £50million.
