Forget Koulibaly, Man United on the brink of signing sturdy CB

Manchester United are grinding out great league results since Jose Mourinho was kicked out of the club in December.

Interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer picked off from where the Portuguese boss left off last year and has won five games in a spin.

It is said the Norwegian could land the job if United can finish ahead of Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal in the competition for the top four.

But news making the rounds have swept those talks under the rug with the spotlight shifting to FC Porto defender Eder Militao.

Militao has been catching the eyes at the defence and United is believed to be interested in hiring his services, says Marca.

Militao is well reputed and recognised at the heart of Porto’s defence and not only is United willing to lure him out, Real Madrid have carried the same intentions too for some time.

Originally, the interest was fuelled by former boss Jose Mourinho before he was laid off. However, it is understood the Red Devils have not trailed off in their pursuit to sign the defender.

Local league rivals Liverpool are reportedly keen, but it appears their interests is fainting, same as Real Madrid.

Marca explained United are heavily interested in bringing the player, however, it is Greece international Kostas Manolas they are ready to sign this month instead.
