Liverpool are eyeing the Premier League title next term and Jurgen Klopp is willing to make that happen.
The Merseysiders sign Fabinho earlier this month from AS Monaco, and attempted to sign another attacker, Lyon’s Nebil Fekir.
However, that deal failed to materialise, nudging Liverpool to walk away from it all.
But Klopp is expected to pull another stunt for the Reds since Fekir’s deal didn’t make it through.
It is understood Klopp is set to add another attacker in his ranks and according to Spanish outlet Sport, the Reds are interested in Spaniard and Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.
According to the article, quoted Telemadrid, Liverpool have joined the rat race for the player’s services.
However, Asensio does not come cheap. He is reportedly valued at €200 million by Madrid. At that steep price, there are rumours that Real upped the bid on the star so that they can have enough pocket money to lure Neymar back to Spain.
Liverpool still have enough money to spend from the lucrative deal they did with Barcelona for Brazilian Philippe Coutinho. But it is unlikely that will be enough to tempt Real Madrid to sell.
In the meantime, aside from an attacker, the Reds are in the market for a reliable shot-stopper, and Alisson is still their best bet yet.
