Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has shown he’s not just a firm fighter on the pitch but also outside Anfield and particularly in chasing down targets he believes will bring the club good fortunes.
Following the club’s failure to land target Nabil Fekir from French Ligue One side Lyon, Klopp has decided to look elsewhere in Europe.
According to Daily Star, Klopp has returned to seeking the services of old target Ousmane Dembele after Barcelona hinted he could be up for loan this summer.
The club couldn’t secure a deal for Fekir after Lyon claimed that negotiations between both clubs materialised to nothing.
However, with the given green light from Barcelona that has opened a window of opportunity to sign Dembele on loan, Klopp is determined to be the first to secure his signature.
According to the Mirror, Liverpool may not table another bid for Fekir, instead will try to land Ousmane Dembele before he is swooped up by other top clubs across Europe.
Barcelona are willing to lease out the 21-year-old for two-years, says the Mirror. Renowned as one of the most expensive players in football history, the youngster made his debut for the Spanish champions in 2017 and was heavily touted with a loan move outside the Spanish capital following a difficult start at the Nou Camp.
However, the possibility of his sale is very slim, points out Spanish expert Guillem Balague. Balague revealed that he is in the long-term plans for the La Liga champions, but a summer loan isn’t out of the books.
Transfermarkt has valued Dembele at 80,00 Mill. €.
