Forget Alderweireld: Man United to agree deal for £44.7m-rated CB

Man United have been told to meet the £44.7million valuation of Eder Militao if they must sign him, this is according to reports.

United’s defence have being the weakest link in the team since the start of the season and Mourinho is looking to fix that for the second half of the season.

The Red Devils were linked to signing a plethora of centre-backs at the start of the season but Ed Woodward failed to release funds. But now, it is widely claimed that the United chief has agreed to bolster the backline of United in the January transfer window.

Several players including Kalidou Koulibaly and Toby Alderweireld have been lined up as potential targets for United. Nonetheless, Koulibaly has been valued at a staggering £90m while Alderweireld may not be allowed to leave midway through the season.

The Times have reported that Militao would be a much cheaper option as it is given that he recently signed for FC Porto.

Jose Mourinho still has a cordial relationship with FC Porto and he is looking to take advantage of this sign the Brazilian ace from the club,.

The player only joined Porto in the summer and he has established himself as a first team player for the club. United have had their scouts watch the player on many occasions and they are impressed with his show-off.
