David Luiz inch-perfect flighted pass over yards of space to find N’golo Kante just behind Palace defenders after the Frenchman hared down just in time to chest down and rifle the ball into the right corner managed to put Chelsea in a safety zone ahead of Unai Emery’s led Arsenal.
The Brazilian has been in top form for Chelsea this season and still has his foot kept on the pedal, but his future is still in the clouds.
His fight-back into Sarri’s squad after months of neglect under Antonio Conte and reports hawking around of his possible sale has been quite an appeal.
The Brazilian’s contract will terminate this season which will see him walk out on a free. The defender has been a stronghold in Chelsea’s backline this campaign despite shocking defeats to Leicester City and Wolves.
While the air on his future is still unclear, fellow compatriot and teammate Willian has urged the club to throw the kitchen sink in keeping the defender.
Willian admitted he wants the defender to stay and says Chelsea should kill off talks suggesting he could exit the club by handing him a bumper package.
“We have to see if the club will want him,” he said. Willian believes Chelsea still have interest in Luiz. He added, “I think they want (him). For me, I want him to stay.”
