Chelsea have agreed to pay the asking price of French Champions Monaco for the signature of France defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, this report is according to Goal.
Bakayoko had a barnstorming season with Monaco and emerged as a prime target to complete Chelsea transfer. He featured in 32 League games for the Ligue 1 outfit, orchestrating play from the middle of the pack.
A £35.2million Chelsea move has been mooted for the player and he is expected to complete his medical this week. He was signed by Monaco from Rennes for £7m but his €40m (£35.1m) valuation has not posed any threat to Chelsea.
Chelsea star Nemanja Matic has reportedly agreed personal terms to Join Man United. The departure of the Serbian will make way for Bakayoko in Chelsea’s midfield, which may also see Fabregas retained.
Kante has provided dexterity to the midfield of Chelsea but it is claimed that Bakayoko would provide a creative partner for Kante who lacks offensive skills. Bakayoko has the ability to retain possession and can drive from a deep lying midfield position.
Meanwhile, report by Sky sports has also indicated that Juventus wing back Alex Sandro is closing in on a record breaking move to Chelsea.
The Brazilian is currently valued at £50m despite joining the Old Lady for about £23million. But it is understood that his high price tag is deliberately set by the Scudetto holders so as to scare off his suitors.
