Arsenal are willing to stump up 18 million pounds to sign La Liga midfield guardian Ever Banega.
The Sevilla man has continued to be linked with a permanent move to Arsenal since Emery took the helm at the club and sounded out he was keen to sign the midfielder.
Banega has played under the tutelage of Unai Emery twice. First at Valencia and then at the Spaniard’s former charge–Sevilla.
Arsenal have since a miraculous comeback this campaign after a gloomy last season under former French boss Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal sniffed around Banega in the summer of this campaign, and tried to pull a few strings using Emery’s influence, but his move to the London outfit failed to come through.
Arsenal are chasing a top four finish, and now that the rubber has met the road, Arsenal are keen on start negotiations for the midfielder to engineer his move to the Emirates.
Since Emery remains keen at signing the midfielder, the asking fee for the player has been set at 18 million pounds and talks peddling in the media say Emery won’t try to argue the price down.
Arsenal are trying to keep their shape, and delving into the market for Banega seems reasonable, as they consider shipping Mesut Ozil on loan next year.
