Arsenal may have had their hopes bashed over signing Juventus goalkeeper Emil Audero.
Italian side Sampdoria want to trigger a clause to sign Arsenal goalkeeping target Emil Audero on a permanent deal this campaign.
Audero is already on loan at Sampdoria and had emerged a target for the north Londoners who will lose veteran keeper and back-up Petr Cech at the end of this campaign.
Cech announced this month he would be hanging his boots, a painful statement for Gunners. It makes the search for a back-up for Bernd Leno more pressing than ever.
Arsenal had been keeping tabs on Audero with hopes they can land him, but that is unlikely to happen as Sampdoria are considering making the player’s deal permanent..
Sampdoria is looking to make Audero’s deal permanent and are set to begin talks with Juventus in making that happen.
Sampdoria, according to Sky Italia is ready to shell out the 14 million euros valuation for the player and will soon get in touch with Juve over get the deal secured.
It puts Arsenal in a difficult position, and even worse when Sampdoria decides to a buyback clause which has reportedly been set at 20 million euros.
Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League, three points off fourth place Chelsea.
