If Arsenal failed to pip their rivals Spurs as they continue to chase a top four finish in the Premier League.
But Gunners played without former Germany international Mesut Ozil and club record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The attacking pair were dropped to the bench by Unai Emery ahead of their derby clash with Tottenham.
Ozil who made a decent showoff earning him lauding praises from the entire Arsenal community in their 5-1 sinking of Saints Southampton on Wednesday, was not a starter on Saturday for Arsenal.
There have been rumours about swirling rife between the German international and Emery which has yet to boil down.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s leading scorer Aubameyang had also been trimmed out, and Alexandre Lacazette had been plucked out of the subs area to play in his berth.
Emery explained that his decision for dropping the pair was down to needing extra juices of motivation.
“We want to play with fresh players, energy, high energy,” said the former Sevilla boss ahead of the fierce clash.
Ozil’s drop, some fear could balloon out of control for both Emery and Arsenal, as they could loss him to Italian and Turkish outfits in the summer.
