Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow in their quest to bolster their squad after agent of prime target Eder Militao rule out a move for the player this month, according to reports.
Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ruled out the possibility of adding players to his squad this winter, United have been heavily linked with a move for Brazilian Porto defender.
It was claimed this week that Militao had agreed terms albeit verbally to join Real Madrid – Consequently, Spanish website AS claimed Les Merenguez would pay out his €50m buy-out clause before the close of the window.
However, the agent of the player spoke to the Spanish press, where he laid bare their decision over the transfer of the player.
“There is no possibility of the player leaving his current club in the winter market,” Giuliano Bertolucci told AS .
United are known to be heavily linked with the signing of the player but Bertolucci revealed Real Madrid are in pole position to sign him.
“We’re not ruling out his signing for Real Madrid in the summer,” he added.
United may have to look elsewhere to sign other targets.
