Chelsea grabbed the win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup from a fine second half solo effort from Eden Hazard to book their place in the fourth round of the competition.
But former Stoke and United defender, now turned Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham insists that despite the huge difference the forward makes in Sarri’s squad, he’s still not at his peak yet.
The 39-year-old remarked that his jaw-dropping goal against Liverpool was unbelievable, adding that he’s believes the Belgium international is the best player in the Premier League “at the moment”.
“He’s a player that is getting better and better,” Higginbotham told Sky Sports News. “I don’t personally think he’s at his peak yet.
“He’s got the potential to go and get 20 goals at least.
“His goal against Liverpool was unbelievable. I think what you saw in this goal was everything that makes Hazard such a standout player: strength, composure, pace… and he really is an incredible player.
“I agree with [Sky Sports pundit] Jamie Carragher, I think he is the best player in the Premier League at the moment. I think he’s a player who keeps improving all the time as well.”
Hazard make a mammoth difference in Chelsea and under Sarri’s stewardship the player will definitely be afforded acres of space to roam into the backline of opponents.
