Manchester United dealt Jose Mourinho a heavy blow when he was given the boot yesterday evening.
After a difficult first half of the 2018-19 Premier League season, United confirmed yesterday, officially, that they have parted ways with Portuguese coach Mourinho.
The pitfalls that had swallowed the club since a handful of players were caught in a crossfire with Mourinho, left them spotting with grave pain and difficulties.
With Mourinho gone, perhaps United can return to her traditional style of play, as Paul Pogba described, he wants United to “attack, attack, attack.”
With that in mind, the club’s top brass vice-chairman Ed Woodward will try and sign Brazilian talent Douglas Costa from Juventus in January.
The powerful winger is not enjoying life at Juventus, according to reports floating around the media.
Costa is struggling for play time under Massimiliano Allegri and Woodward wants to bait him out of Turin.
Woodward is keen on shaking things up at United and tying loose strings ahead of the transfer window in January for interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer was appointed to take over from Mourinho just for a short term before they find a suitable replacement for the job. Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino is on their cards.
Costa is valued at 55,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
