Maurizio Pochettino is top on the managerial wish-list for Manchester United to replace under-fire Jose Mourinho, this is according to rife reports.
Mourinho has led United to one of their worst start to life in the Premier League and the Portuguese boss is said to be marking time on his spell with the side.
The club have so far lost three of their games in the League and the relationship between the manager and most of his key players have gone sour, notably Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.
Many have called on the brass of the club to give the Portuguese manager more time but the club will be forced to sack him if his team fails to improve on their A game. According to the Independent, Tottenham boss Pochettino tickles the fancy of the Ed Woodward, who would try to prise the Argentinean away from White Hart Lane.
Before this report, Zidane has been mentioned as favourite to replace Mourinho but there are several uncertainties to get him appointed.
Meanwhile, since the arrival of Pochettino, Tottenham have grown in lips and bounds and it would be difficult for Dany Levy to allow the Argentine leave mid-way through the season.
He has led Spurs to the Champions League in the last three seasons despite his meagre transfer budget and he has been classed as a top-notch manager.
