José Mourinho is already scribbling down targets to shop for in the transfer market when it opens in January.
United failed to stamp a strong impression as favourites to win the title this season after a dull showoff since the 2018-19 Premier League season went underway.
It is hard to swallow the fact that despite the rich dexterity in Mourinho’s squad, the Red Devils still continue to show signs of a drag.
Mourinho is determined to correct this, perhaps it is why the football superpower has been linked with a move to sign Juventus Douglas Costa.
Midfielder Paul Pogba is locked in a conflict with Mourinho and was touted to join Barcelona in the summer window. However, that move never materialised, but there are still growing indications he may yet leave the Theatre of Dreams.
Pogba could return to former club Juventus which could trigger Costa’s sale.
The ruckus between Jose and the Frenchman spurred hints that Pogba may exit United in January.
And swapping an unstettled Pogba for Costa, who is widely admired for his excellent dribbling skills and attacking flairs seem like a good deal to dive into.
United next face Watford on Saturday after winning eight points from a possible 16, losing 2 out of four Premier League matches.
