Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has earned plaudits for the number of quality signings he has made for the club in this transfer window but the Italian tactician is poised to go one better before the window is slammed shut at the end of August.
The Blues have been on the chase of Juventus left back Alex Sandro but they have been handed a blow in the player’s pursuit after the coach of Juventus Massimiliano Allegri ruled out the transfer of the star, reports Goal.
Chelsea have been on the chase of the player even before the transfer window was opened. They made offers for the Brazilian and we understand that despite Chelsea’s willingness to pay up to €60 million, the Old Lady have refused to give in to Chelsea’s advances.
Conte is unhappy with having no options for his wing backs and he is looking to give Marcos Alonso competition for the left wing position. Conte has already bolstered his squad with four signings but his wing back position is looking thread bare at the moment.
Juventus have already allowed their key defender Bonucci Switched Turin for the San Siro and he doesn’t want to lose another defender.
“Alex Sandro? He’s a Juventus player, he’s extraordinary and he won’t leave us,” he toldPremium Sport.
“He’s improved so much since he came to Juve and he has the margins to improve again. Along with [Real Madrid left-back] Marcelo, he’s the best in the world.”
Chelsea will play Arsenal this week in the Premier League curtain-raiser but we are likely to see Chelsea sign one more player before the window is closed.
