The Manchester United fans are all on the edge of their seats as they hope to see the signing of a striker in few days time. Alvaro Morata is being mooted to be completing the move to United on Thursday, but let’s not forget he is coming from Madrid.
The Los Blancos have an antecedent of reneging on already agreed deals, hence Mourinho’s decision to have Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic as a fall-back option should Morata’s deal hit snag.
Fresh report suggest that Perisic has not given up on Joining Manchester United, as he has scheduled a meeting with the Inter’s hierarchy in a bid to broker a move away from the Italian giants. The report goes on to say that he will have talks once he resumed training next week, as per Manchester Evening News.
Inter have a battle on their hands to keep the Croatian hitman at the club, he is insisting on an exit due to European football – or the lack thereof – but they know the future is bleak if he leaves, as there are no quality alternatives within their ranks, or the funds to procure the signing of another striker either.
Perisic will be an upgrade on whoever United may throw at him. He may not have the charisma or the marketing value as the likes of Anthony Martial or Mata, but his stats speaks volume. He recorded 11 goals and 8 assists despite not playing as the main striker.
If United are genuinely interested, it is in best interest that Inter let him leave since keeping him against his wish would affect his output immensely.
He is valued at £44m (€50m)
