Arsenal FC were on the brink of a collapse at the start of the second half of the season but the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have somewhat given stability to the Gunners. They will be looking to build on this momentum next season but not without the signing of players.
According recent report, Arsenal have made an offer in the region of €40m for their long term transfer target Karim Benzema.
Benzema was high on Arsene Wenger’s transfer wishlist list in the penultimate season but despite offers for the French forward, he stayed put at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 30-year-old has been the main striker for Real Madrid since joining them from Lyon in the summer of 2009. The star has seen his stock dropped drastically and there are speculations that he wants to call time on his impressive spell with Los Blancos.
This term, Benzema has found the back of the next only five times in 25 La Liga appearances and there are indications that Madrid will listen to offers for him as they look to sign a more prolific striker.
According to Sportwitnes via Don Balon Florentino Perez has sanctioned the sale of the star against the wish of the Ronaldo and Zidane but this not before their claim that Borrussia Dortmund and Arsenal are locking horns for the player’s signature.
They went further to claim that Arsenal have offered €40m for the player’s services but Perez wants him to join Borrussia Dortmund because of their €60m offer.
Wenger revealed earlier this weekend that he will strengthen his team but not in the attack.
