€170m bid submitted: Chelsea closed to transfer deal for mega star forward

Real Madrid sent a bid to Chelsea for Eden Hazard during the transfer window of the summer, this is according to reports.

Hazard has been on the transfer radar of Juventus since the reign of Zinedine Zidane as the manager of the club. But they became desperate to sign him after Cristiano Ronaldo opted to join Juventus.

Ronaldo surprisingly left Madrid after a successful nine year spell at the side and they were linked with several players as his replacement including Hazard and Kylian Mbappe.

Les Merengues are yet to recover from the departure of Ronaldo and it is widely claimed they could make another attempt to sign the Belgian forward.

However, Ok Diario director Eduardo has revealed how Madrid failed in their attempt to lure the star to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.

He spoke with El Chiringuito: “This summer Real Madrid tried to sign Hazard and Marcos Alonso.

“But Chelsea always said no. “Real Madrid was willing to offer 170 million euros for Hazard”

Hazard has reiterated his desire to stay put at Chelsea follow their form under Maurizio Sarri. The player is yet to sign a new deal with Chelsea but he has assured fans that he would not do a Thibaut Courtois.

He is currently the leading scorer in the Premier League but it is only a matter of time before he fulfills his dream of joining Madrid.

“I will tell you the truth. After the World Cup I wanted to leave, it’s my dream to play in Spain,” he said.

“I am really in the game, I am playing good football at the moment. Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie today.

“It is my dream since I was a kid. I was dreaming about this club. We will see. I don’t want to talk about this every day.

“I don’t have time, but we will talk about my future soon. I think so.

“It is also when you have a dream and you want to make it happen.”
