The problem of Arsenal has not been the ability to identify talents but their inability to broker a deal for those scouted players. The Gunners have missed out on the signing of in-demand Barcelona player Adrià Bernabé, according to report.
The current contract of the youngster will expire at the end of next season and he has informed the Catalan that he will not be renewing his deal, with a ‘pre-contract agreement’ already in place with Manchester City.
Bernabe joined the Catalan Club from capital rival Espanyol but his imminent exit will certainly anger the brass of Barcelona. Arsenal have been keeping tabs on the player but Manchester City have won the race for his signature.
According to the Sun, Gerard Romero has claimed that the Etihad outfit will only pay training fees for the rising star because he will run down his contract next season.
While Arsenal have lost out on the 16-year-old rising star, Sport claims that other youth and cadets could follow his example and leave the club’. Which means Arsenal could still get the hold of another raw talent from the side.
