Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Gonzola Higuain after emerging reports reveal his brother has arrived London to seal a move for the star.
Reports linking Higuain with a move to Chelsea have been ongoing since the opening of the transfer window. The Blues have signed on Cristian Pulisic earlier and they have made Higuain a top target.
Maurizio Sarri is displeased with the form of Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata and has resorted to fielding Hazard as his point man. While the huge fan base of Chelsea are hoping the deal for Higuain will pull through on time so he can play against Arsenal, it appears they have missed today’s midday deadline to register the 31-year-old for the game.
However, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed the star could be in attendance for the game on Saturday, while confirming that his brother Nicolas Higuain, who acts as his agent has arrived London to see out negotiations for the transfer.
“Sky in Italy are reporting Higuain’s brother is standing by to fly to London to complete the deal,” he said this morning. It’s more likely that if Higuain is at the Emirates on Saturday it will be to watch the game.
“We told you yesterday a loan had been agreed with Juventus until the end of the season. “Chelsea do have the option to extend that loan by another 12 months.”
Sarri and Higuain had a good working relationship while the pair were at Napoli.
Higuain’s arrival will see Morata leave for Atletico Madrid, it has been reported.
