With a little over 24 hours before the January transfer window is declared close, Manchester United have managed to win a few notches of their own this month.
United have succeeded in flogging defenders Ro-Shaun Williams.
Williams who skippered the Red Devils under-23s has joined Shrewsbury on a two-and-a-half-year deal after a long stretch at the Mancunians.
The centre-back is delighted over the move and believes he is ready to take the action out there after long years under cover playing at just the lower league for United.
“I feel like I’ve completed youth football, I’ve come up from playing for your local team all the way through to the reserves at United. I think I’m ready to be playing men’s football.” Said the 20-year-old centre-back.
William says he not a slowpoke when he is one the ball, admitting he has got enough fuel to burn in his engine room.
“I like to play on the ball and defend but pace is something I’ve got in the locker as well,” he said.
Shrewsbury has also picked up free agent and left-back Scot Golbourne after the left-back left Bristol City at the end of last season.
He toldd Shrewsbury’s official website: “I am really pleased to get back into a club and to have come here.
“This is a club that I have always heard good things about – having a connection with a few guys at Wolves who are from Shrewsbury.”
