Dutch and PSV Eindhoven defender Ian Maatsen has agreed a deal to join Chelsea, this is according to report.
There is so much uncertainty over the future of Antonio Conte but reports have continued to link the Blues with the signing of players.
Maatsen is one of the most talented rising stars in the Dutch league – the 16-year-old star can play as a left back and a centre-back, and the Blues are lured by his talent.
As a reward for his consistent and swashbuckling displays, PSV Eindhoven offered the star a three-year contract. Alas, he knocked back offers from his club and he’s informed the side that he will be joining Chelsea this term, reports the Metro via ED.
The defender has featured for the U17 side of Holland and he will join the youth set-up of the Blues to fastrack his development. Chelsea have an expansive youth system that sees several youngsters nurtured and transformed into professionals.
Maatsen does not have a professional contract with PSV , which means Chelsea will pay the player a training compensation fee. The report further claims that Chelsea will pay €110,000 (£97,000) to the Dutch outfit, leaving them with a stake in his future transfer fees.
