Chelsea and Manchester United-linked Brazilian defender Alex Sandro has finally nailed to rest murmurs about a possible transfer to the Premier League in the winter.
The Brazilian was hugely linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United last season. It was unclear if Sandro would hold out on decision to stay at Turin and finally leap into the Premier League.
The Brazilian’s contract was due to be terminated in 2020. However, he’s turned the talks on his transfer, clearly having Chelsea and United taking a backstep in their consideration over his services.
Sandro penned down a new deal at Juventus on Thursday. The deal will stretch into 2023. The left-back will pocket a whopping four million pounds per year as wages playing for the Bianconeri, reports goal.
Sandro who was a big target for Chelsea, and a host of other top European clubs, United inclusive, had hinted he could be lured out of the outfit.
The left-back had revealed he was yet to begin negotiations with Juventus over extending his stay, claiming “a proposal has not yet come from [Juventus] to renew. I think only of the present and the field”.
Former United boss Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the Brazilian talent, despite failing to steal him away from Bianconeri.
So far, the left-back has made 20 appearances for Juventus this season.
