Arsenal have going back and forth over their move for the player. The Gunners made offers to sign the star on loan but they reached a breakthrough on Tuesday after the Spanish playmaker agreed to extend his deal with Barcelona.
The Gunners were expected to sign Suarez on a permanent deal at the end of the season but they opted against that clause.
His contract with Barcelona will end in 2020 but they have succeeded in getting him to sign a one year extension. The fact that he agreed to extend his deal means he won’t go for cheap at the end of the season.
Reports claim the Gunners agreed a €2 million (£1.7m) loan deal with Barcelona and the deal include the option of signing him permanent for €25m (£21.7m) in the summer.
His agent reportedly arrived earlier to sort out the paper work of his transfer and it is only a matter of time before the deal is confirmed.
