Chelsea young goalkeeper Karlo Žiger has joined Sutton United (National League) on a loan spell until the end of the season.
Sutton have their first team goalkeeper Jamie Butler while back-up Ross Worner is cup-tied. Chelsea youngster Ziger is expected to slot into the first team of Paul Doswell side and he will be handed his debut in their FA Cuptie at Spennymoor.
Ziger joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 from NK Zagreb and he was part of the youth side that conquered the FA Youth Cup last season.
Although he is just 17, Chelsea are bent on exposing their goalkeepers earlier than the outfield players.
Like Nathan Baxter and Jared Thompson he will be looking to garner enough appearances before returning to the Blues and hopefully, move to the next level.
Confirming his capture, Sutton took to their Twitter handle to announce his transfer.
