Lyanco snubs Manchester United and agrees deal with Torino
Just last weekend, Manchester United moved a place higher on the Premier League log for the first time last year, making their chances for Champions League qualification more realistic. However, there are yet gaps to be filled in Mourinho’s team to make the Red Devils more competitive.
According to latest reports, the Old Trafford faithfuls have missed out of one of their transfer target known as Lyanco. The Centre back plies his trade for Brazilian outfit Sao Paolo but he will lacing his boots for Torino next term.
Jose Mourinho has had to use a makeshift defenders in the right back and one of the centre back positions. Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo have not been playing in their natural positions, and Mourinho thinks Lyanco, who plays at right back and centre back, could be used in the aforementioned players stead.
Manchester United had been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old stellar centre back but all the hopes to lure him to Old Trafford next summer has hit the rocks. Globoesporte claims that Lyanco has agreed to join Torino in a £6.9m including add-ons.
Mourinho will now be forced to look elsewhere to bolster his defensive units. Eric Bailley is the only defender signed on by Mourinho last summer.
