Done deal: Man United midfield target seals move, Liverpool linked

Seria A club AC Milan may have stolen a march on Manchester United and Chelsea for the signing of Flamengo and Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta, this is according to reports.

He started out his career with Brazilian side Flamengo and ascended the various grades of the club to the senior side. Since breaking into the first team in 2016, the star has been about one of the hottest property in South-American football.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the player and it was reported that his agent was at Merseyside over the last weekend.

Nonetheless, latest reports have indicated that Paqueta is on the verge of sealing a dream move to AC Milan as confirmed by Flamengo director of sport Carlos Noval.

“It’s not a done deal with Milan yet and we prefer to talk only when things are done and dusted,” Noval told Tuttomercatoweb.

“We are talking. Negotiations are ongoing, but as far as we are concerned, they are not closed yet.

“I do think it can be finalised in two weeks, though. It should be a couple of weeks, yes.”

Manchester United have started the season poorly and it is widely claimed that Jose Mourinho would be handed a massive transfer budget when the January transfer window comes alive.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are one of the high flyers in the League but Klopp is still on the lookout for potent options to his midfield.
