Done deal: Defender wanted by Man United agree deal, City misses out

The Manchester clubs have missed out on the signing of impressive Portuguese defender Tiago Djaló, this is according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed his satisfaction with the current state of the Man United squad but the club is yet scampering around Europe to add their youth rank.

Djalo is a product of the Sporting Lisbon academy  and he made his debut for them last season. Following his top-notch display for club, he has attracted interest from top clubs around Europe.

United are not the only club keeping tabs on the player – Manchester United have also been closely monitoring his progress.

Alas, the Premier League clubs may have to lost the battle to sign the 18-year-old star after Sky Sport Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claim Milan have reached an agreement with the Portuguese outfit for the player’s signing.

At the moment, United are not short of quality in their academy. They are looking for players that will ascend the grades and stake a claim in their first team like Marcus Rashford has done.

This is another blow for City, who missed out on the signing of Barcelona wonderkid Ilaix Moriba.
