With plenty of uncertainty surrounding the future of some Arsenal players at the Emirates, fans will be excited the promising products churned out of the Gunners academy are keen on extending their stay at the club.
Arsenal’s promising talents Bukayo Saka and Arthur Okonkwo have both penned down professional deals at the north London side.
Former Arsenal player and academy manager Per Mertesacker expressed his delight over their signed professional contracts, and remarked that the club is keen on bigging them.
“Bukayo and Arthur are talented players, who have both excelled through our Hale End Academy.
“We are delighted that they have signed their first professional contracts with us and we look forward to supporting them further through their development.“ Per Mertesacker explained.
Saka, 17, is an England international, superb winger, who plays for the England U23 squad. He has three caps for the U23 team.
Meanwhile, towering shot-stopper Okonkwo plays for the Gunners U23 team, having formerly featured for their U-21 team.
Emery is keen on nursing the Gunners, after taking over from Arsene Wenger last season.
The Gunners boss signed in Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno, all youngsters, who have been terrific for the club.
The Gunners finished outside Champions League spot last season at sixth place and will compete in the Europa League this season.
