Chelsea have completed the transfer of Brazilian star Kenedy on a season-long loan move to newly promoted Premier League side Newcastle United, this is according to the Express.
The 21-year-old winger was sent home from Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the Far East after he made offensive post on Social media and he was put up for a transfer by the Blues.
The post was accompanied with the caption ‘Damn China’ and ‘Wake up China, you idiot!’. but the player has since taken down the post and he has with Chelsea apologised for his misdemeanor.
According to the report, the Magpies have now offered the winger a route to escape and rebuild his career. Rafa Benitez has bemoaned the lack of transfer activities at the club since the opening of the transfer window. He had tried to sign Arsenal’s Lucas Perez but the signing of Kenedy has come as a boost for his side as the Brazilian will add potency to his attack going forward.
Kenedy joined Chelsea in the summer of 2015 from Fluminense in a deal believed to be around £6.3m but he has struggled to impose himself in the first team of the Blues.
He was sent on a loan to Watford last term but injury scuppered his development as he managed only one appearance for the Hornet. He returned to Chelsea in December to recuperate.
Given the plethora of options at the disposal of Antonio Conte, Kenedy will certainly not get playing at Chelsea but we hope he becomes at better player at Newcastle.
